How many doors must be knocked on before one is opened? Hiram Bale continues to knock but the doors are dead bolted. In WA Hiram Bale has chalked up 19 starts and has actually returned ten cheques but a win has proven elusive. His turtle like early speed has been the reason for his lack of success in the state but he runs on each and every week and seems to wind up in 4th as he has a 4th placed strike rate of 33%. His effort last week was yet again another admirable performance winding up in 4th. His mid race speed down the back straight was impressive but races aren’t won down the back straight. The faith in Hiram Bale shown by trainer Christine “Diamond” Bennett and members of the Bail Us Out Syndicate has never faltered. It has never dipped nor even slightly weaned. Hiram Bale is on the verge of a breakthrough win and that win will come. It may not be in super slick time and it may even be through trouble occurring up front leaving the path for Hunter, as he is known by connections, to skate through Steven Bradbury style. But we believe a win will be achieved and when it does the Bail Us Out Syndicate will celebrate and party like they’ve won the Perth cup and that is what it is all about.
This Wednesday Hiram Bale pads up and goes into bat in race four on the card. He has drawn favourably in box three and on paper it’s the type of race in which the 20/1 shot slow beginner could be assisted home into the each way placings and possibly the much sort after win.
It’s a race full of pace early pace and many of the chances seemingly need to lead and lead clearly. With several runners occupying first sectionals in the range of 5.75 seconds it could create the traffic bungle the Bail Us Out Syndicate is looking for.
With carnage on the first bend Hiram Bale will be far enough back to see it happen and he’ll hopefully have enough time to navigate a path through it. We’ll leave the rubber necking to the others and hopefully Hunter can uncharacteristically find the front somewhere and catch them all off the bit.
Sure for all the above to happen it may be part dream and coinciding odds of about 50/1 but mark these words, Hiram Bale will break his duck in the West. At probably 20/1 each way he’ll once again be carrying the $10 each way of each syndicate member.
C’mon Hunter, this is your chance. Bring up your debut win in the West.
