The Letting It Ride syndicate is about to debut. This Wednesday night at Cannington in what will hopefully be the lucky last race the greyhound Let It Ride will grace the Cannington circuit for his debut race. The ten member strong Letting It Ride syndicate (No you’re right we weren’t up all night thinking up that syndicate name!) are in readiness to make their way to Cannington central, freeze their collective butts off and wait around until the last race for some racing entertainment. For many of the members it’s their first ever venture into greyhound racing and nothing is more exciting than that.

In the greyhound purchasing and owning game perseverance works in one of either two ways. If you purchased a greyhound in good faith and it goes like a busted hump you may have been hosed and stitched up, which is more times the case than not if you have purchased out of NSW. What do you do? You either cop the hit and learn from the mistake of buying out of that crooked state or you persevere, risk throwing good money after bad and try to salvage something from the wreck. A wise man once told me that most NSW folk would rather earn a crooked $50 than an honest $100 and in my subsequent experiences a truer saying I am yet to hear. But there is always the exception to the rule. That exception is here as the stitch up this time came from a different state.
